Message from 2007 President: Laura Hill

I would like to welcome The Legacy AT&T Pioneers that are joining our council. Letters were sent out from the Georgia Chapter so that all Pioneers can merge for a better volunteering team.

Thanks to all of Southside Council’s Pioneers, Life Members and Partners for all the participation for these past months. The first half of the year 2007 has been wonderful.

Let us continue to focus on serving our communities as we go forward to the end of this year.    ____________________________________________________________

Our 2nd Quarter Recipe

Get ready for your 4th of July picnic with this easy “Roll Out Cookie” recipe

1 c butter                                     1 c sugar

1 large egg                                  1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoon baking powder         3 c flour

Preheat oven to 400. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix baking powder and flour, add one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. The dough will be very stiff, blend last flour in by hand (if dough become too stiff, add water a teaspoon at a time). DO NOT CHILL DOUGH. Divide dough into 2 portions; on flour surface roll each portion into a circle, approximately 12 inches in diameter and 1/3 inches thick. Use star cookie cutters dipped in flour to make cookies. Can decorate with colored sugar or frost with red and white icing.
